To the left, the west-facing wall of the current post office/True Grit pool hall.

To the left, out of frame, is the real post office/fake pool hall. To the right, out of frame, is the real bank/fake bank. These two grey fake houses are being built in empty spaces to fill out the view. Again, I believe the poles and wires will be digitally removed. While poles and lines on the main street of the set were removed (and lines run underground instead), these side streets don't appear to have been as important.

This shot was taken in front of the Fort Smith pool hall / Granger Post Office. You can see the boardwalk ends just before the drug store and picks up again at the other side of the variety store. I don't know if they are planning to extend it or if it will have a dirt fill.

On the set of Coen Brothers' remake of "True Grit". Chen Lee is a character in the movie. Note the Film Fleet (of Austin, TX) truck. Film Fleet is an equipment rental service for productions.

The signage is done and the brick has been touched up, but a few tasks remain for the set carpenters and artists. Chief among these would be to reframe the doors and to obscure the granite plaque on the right side of the door.

Facing eastward, toward Rt 95 and the MoPac rail line in Granger, Texas. The curious thing about this shot is the pole on the right side, which seems to be tethering the building. All phone and power poles west of the MoPac tracks on the main thoroughfare have been removed, and the production company has replaced the lines running on them with underground lines at their own expense for the community. I don't know if this tether will remain, will be edited out, or will be removed entirely before shooting begins.
