According to the Courant, Connecticut's largest news organization, filming on new movie "Animal" will continue through mid-August at a cabin on Upper Case Pond in Manchester.
The town-owned Maude Dennison Cabin off Birch Mountain Road in the Case Mountain Recreation Area, according to Kevin Shea, a line producer with Rocky Hill-based Synthetic Cinema International, "was perfect. And the cabin itself, with its rich old chestnut and roomy interior, is ideal for filming."
Outside, boards are nailed across windows while beat-up furniture and rusted appliances complete the interior. According to town General Manager Scott Shanley, the crew has installed electrical service at the cabin and made some structural repairs.
The film co-produced with actress Drew Barrymore's Flower Films, stars Lauren Keyana "Keke" Palmer ("Akeelah and the Bee") and Elizabeth Gillies ("Victorious").
"Animal" is scheduled to be released in theaters spring 2014.
