Detroit Goes Boom for Transformers 4

July 25, 2013

Downtown Detroit is hitting it up big this summer with the blockbuster production of Transformers 4 (currently 'untitled' on IMDB due to lack of official name) coming to its streets between the dates of July 31st through August 8 according to Paramount Pictures.
The places to watch for are Washington Boulevard and Bagley Avenue where the China Town-esque filming set is currently being built,  including the sidewalks and streets in and around that area. With the bulk of the movie shooting reportedly taking place around the daylight hours of 7am-9am, some of the shooting is expected to run after those hours, so we suggest you look for cameras and crews working any time of the day.
What can you expect to see? Residents and tourists alike were warned to 'expect simulated gunfire, controlled pyrotechnic explosions, precision driving potentially involving squealing tires, controlled vehicle crashes and smoke'.
This is a potential community booster for downtown Detroit since the project is expected to hire 368 Michigan workers full time, not to mention the potential tourist attraction for the businesses in the area.
This is the third movie in the franchise to use Detroit as a backdrop and it will be directed by rock-star daddy of directors Michael Bay with a bombshell cast  of Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammer, Nicola Peltz and two of the best actors that have come out of mainland China: Bingbing Li and Geng Han. We expect to see the movie hit the silver screen 27th of June, 2014. Follow us for more information like trailers and other related movie news hot and fresh as they come out.
